I like the fast, sweaty yoga, but I loved your class! It was hard, and it felt really good. For the first time, ever, I was able to meditate - my mind just got really quiet...and I was actually a little sore the next day, too!
DETAILS: Join Niki Saccareccia ERYT and Eugenia Castro for a relaxing experience fusing ancient eastern instruments with relaxing yoga poses.
The practice is gentler and slower than a typical yoga class, as this style is meant to calm the nervous system, easing anxiety, nervous energy, pent up tension, and emotional/mental congestion. This practice is often as a therapeutic agent for self-led healing.
Sound healing uses the resonance of the instruments to induce a state of mediation, and include Chakra-tuned crystal singing bowls, Tibetan metal bowls and planetary gongs, among other instruments. In this class, you will listen to beautiful meditative music as you relax in a series of deep, soothing stretches.
The yoga poses involve minimal effort, and can be done by anybody. Whether you have yoga experience or not, whether you are injured, elderly, pregnant, brand-new or a seasoned practitioner, this class will help you calm down and tune in to the inner-healer. A maximum of 6 poses will be held for up to 10 minutes during this class, where the body will be propped up on props like bolster pillows and blankets. See the picture above for an idea of what the practice looks like.
This practice is deeply beneficial to the mind and body, increasing immune function and decreasing muscle tension and mental lethargy. Expect to feel energized and peaceful after this practice!
